Join the Interprofessional Academy of Educators for a special writing workshop presented by Drs. Jana Wardian, Michelle Howell, and Elizabeth Beam.

Have publication topics but don’t know the best way to move forward? This is your opportunity to get a good start on that manuscript you have been meaning to write! Join us either in-person in McGoogan Library (WHM 6033) or via Zoom for a hybrid writing workshop held Thursday, May 16 & Friday, May 17, 2024. Individual authors and authorship teams are welcome. Lunch is not provided but there will be light refreshments available throughout both days in the Faculty Commons (WHM 6051).

The mornings (9:00 am-12:00 pm) will feature workshop content using segments of videos interwoven with discussion and work time to develop a new manuscript for publication.

The afternoons (1:00 pm-3:00 pm) is dedicated time to write. Our panel of experts will be available for consultation live or via Zoom for more specific questions about your manuscript development if needed.

Topics for each day include:

Thursday, May 16
How to organize a writing team
Authorship guidelines
Choosing a journal
Writing an introduction including titles, introduction narratives, purpose statements, and research questions

Friday, May 17
How to write a method section
How to write a results section
How to write a discussion section
How to write an abstract
Special topics

*Please note:  Sessions may run longer or shorter depending on discussion and questions. The morning sessions will progress through the topics listed.
