Presentation: Fundamentals of Super-Resolution microscopy using Structured Illumination (SIM) or Single Molecule Localization (STORM, PALM) Microscopy
Presenters:
- Dr. Christian Hellriegel (Zeiss Embedded Specialist, Harvard Center for Biological Imaging)
- Ash Aryal (Zeiss Product & Application Specialist-3D Imaging, , Nik Terzic (Terzic Instruments, Authorized Zeiss Business Partner)
Dr. Christian Hellriegel (remote), assisted by Ash Aryal and Nik Terzic (Elyra PS.1 operation during presentation), will offer a super-resolution focused workshop with educational sessions addressing foundational concepts and considerations when planning and conducting super-resolution studies (SIM, STORM, PALM). Two innovative presentations with the Zeiss team will allow researchers to learn the basics implementing super-resolution techniques while seeing them applied in real-time on the Elyra PS.1 super-resolution microscope in the Advanced Microscopy Core Facility at UNMC. 30 minutes will be reserved for questions and answers at the end of each session.
Morning Session (10:00a to 12:00p, CST): Super-Resolution microscopy background concepts and theory, introduction to experiment planning, acquisition, and software basics.
Afternoon Session (1:00p to 3:00p, CST): Detailed discussion of acquisition software and analysis options/considerations for SIM, PALM, and STORM imaging on the Elyra PS.1.
The same Zoom link will be used for both sessions. For those who are unable to attend, this educational webinar will be recorded and shared through the AMCF website.
