In partnership with the Student Pride Alliance, the LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group is hosting a panel discussion featuring a diverse group of LGBTQ+ health care practitioners, providers and clinicians who will speak about their experiences being queer and working in health care.

In the theme of “you can’t be what you can’t see,” we hope that students and other members of the UNMC and Nebraska Medicine community will attend the panel and hear from those working in the field to learn firsthand about how expectations about gender and sexuality are part of their career.

The importance of role models for minority and underrepresented groups in health care is widely understood, but often LGBTQ+ professionals fly under the radar, and the visibility and open discussion of the panel is an important part of changing this.
