Introduction to Light Sheet Microscopy in the Advanced Microscopy Core
About this Event
The UNMC advanced microscopy core facility (AMCF) is excited to announce the arrival of our new light sheet fluorescence microscope capable of capturing 3D images from intact tissues, organs, and/or small organisms at cellular-level resolutions. The new Miltenyi Biotec Ultramicroscope II Light Sheet fluorescence microscope (LSFM) will extend your existing fluorescent imaging into true 3D, large-scale volumetric imaging of intact samples. Unlike traditional laser scanning microscopy, LSFM excites your sample in an orthogonal beam path. Using this approach, LSFM reduces out of focus light, captures larger fields of view, and collects volumetric images 10’s to 100’s of times faster than traditional confocal microscopes.
In this educational seminar, the field applications specialist for the new Miltenyi Ultramicroscope II will discuss the fundamentals of light sheet microscopy and tissue clearing. For more information about light sheet microscopy, visit the AMCF website and the Miltenyi website.
