Internal Medicine Grand Rounds presents Dr. John R. Windle, Professor of Medicine in UNMC's Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. 
 

Dr. Windle is currently the Richard and Mary Holland Distinguished Chair of Cardiovascular Science and the Inaugural Director of the Center for Intelligent Health Care. He has published extensively on cardiac electrophysiology, in particular, cardiac mapping. However, for the past 20 years his interests have concentrated on health information technology and digital health technology with an expertise in user-centered design, data standards, and artificial intelligence. He is active in the American Medical Informatics Association where he serves as Lead of the Health Professionals and Health System Workgroup of the AMIA 25 by 5 burden reduction taskforce. During the past 15 years, he has participated in major informatics initiatives including being the site Co-PI for a $19M NIST grant on the Sharable Interoperable Guideline Management Initiative, PI on a National Library of Medicine Grant looking at physician adoption of the electronic health record.
