For the third consecutive year, the UNO Department of English and UNO Medical Humanities is working with JNS Theater for Social Change to guide students in developing short plays centered on provocative social issues surrounding illness, healing, and healthcare. This year, they extended an initiation to UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees to submit their own powerful stories.

Seven UNMC/Nebraska Medicine employees and one High School Alliance program student were selected to work alongside UNO students to write one-act plays based on their experiences. These plays will be performed by New York and local actors live via Zoom.

UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees and students are invited to join the live reading, which is open to the public and free of charge. The event takes place on Monday, April 19 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. CST. Anyone interested in attending the live reading can register here. After you submit your registration, you will receive a Zoom link that can be added to your calendar.

This event is co-sponsored by the UNMC Offices of Faculty Development, Equity, and Inclusion. Questions may be directed to facdev@unmc.edu
