Linda Burhansstipanov, MSPH, DrPH

Research Summary

Dr. Burhansstipanov leads pioneering research in Native American cancer, genetics, community-based participatory research, evaluation, patient navigation, and survivorship. She developed and implemented the Native American Cancer Research Program at the National Cancer Institute and founded NACR (non-profit) and NACI (minority women's for-profit business) to address cancer disparities in Native populations. As principal investigator on multiple NIH grants, including a NIMHD Phase I SBIR to develop a tablet app to evaluate Patient Navigation Services, her work has resulted in over 160 peer-reviewed publications. She also serves on the NIMHD Scientific Advisory Council and coordinates comprehensive Native Patient Navigation training programs, developing culturally appropriate cancer care approaches for Indigenous communities.
