The Eppley Institute welcomes our Upper Midwest Emerging Scholar for Spring 2026, Dr. Stefani Thomas, Assistant Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center.
Her talk will be: "Predictive protein biomarkers of drug treatment sensitivity in ovarian cancer".
Highlights:
- Drug resistance is a common feature of ovarian cancer treated with chemotherapy and targeted therapies, including PARP inhibitors (PARPi)
- Identifying proteins involved in resistance to chemotherapy and PARPi will improve the understanding of drug treatment resistance mechanisms, supporting future combination drug development efforts
