UNMC faculty, staff and students are invited to hear from one of five finalists for the College of Dentistry dean position.
J. Bruce Bavitz, DMD, chair of the department of surgical specialties at the UNMC College of Dentistry, will participate in an open campus presentation Tuesday, April 11.
The forum will be from noon to 12:45 p.m. CT in the Dixon Auditorium at the UNMC College of Dentistry in Lincoln and via Zoom. Attendees can access the Zoom link via this intranet page and ask questions during the forum.
A practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery in Lincoln since 1988, Dr. Bavitz is past president of both the Lincoln District Dental Society and the Nebraska Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a fellow in the American College of Dentists and is editor of “Practical Reviews in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.” At Nebraska, he has helped train approximately 1,700 general dentists and 200 specialists. His research interests include evidenced based dentistry, alveolar bone reconstruction, tooth autotransplantation and procedural sedation.
