Join performance artist D. Kevin Williams as he depicts the life of William Parker Walker, founder of DeWitty, Nebraska - the first and longest lasting Black homestead colony in Cherry County.

D. Kevin Williams Bio:

Williams has been developing his professional and instructional craft in the dramatic arts for over thirty-five years.

His professional journey performing started at the Omaha Community Playhouse in the show Shenandoah and at the age of twelve debuting in a Godfather’s Pizza commercial. He has succeeded as a voice over artist, private drama instructor, and performance artist, with credits ranging from performing for radio to television.

Most notably, the Emmy nominated animated children’s series Liberty’s Kids, the Nebraska and North Carolina Shakespeare Festivals and the film For Love of Amy.

Williams has provided drama workshops as artist-in-residence for Partnership 4 Kids, toured with the Benson Theater and the National Broadway Company of The Color Purple, and performs with the African Culture Connection.

He also serves on the board of directors for the Table Grace Cafe and is on the artist in schools and communities AiS/C roster with the Nebraska Arts Council.

Williams has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Drake University and is a native of Omaha, Nebraska.
