The Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) will be holding its annual poster symposium from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on August 10 at the Truhlsen Events Center on the UNMC campus.

The UNMC community is invited to the event, which is the culmination of a 10-week, full-time research program for undergraduates. SURP is a collaboration between UNMC departments, institutes, colleges, and graduate specialty areas, designed to allow undergraduate students to become members of research teams and discover firsthand the broad spectrum of research activities occurring at UNMC.

In addition to being mentored by faculty, SURP students attend weekly seminars provided by UNMC researchers to enhance their knowledge about research careers and the variety of research at UNMC. The laboratory experiences obtained by SURP students enhance their competitiveness for later admission to graduate programs at UNMC.

The campus is invited to come meet the SURP students and view their poster presentations.
