BHECN is hosting the 3rd Annual Psychiatric Nursing Workforce Summit at the Scott Conference Center in Omaha. Presentations will focus on the current landscape of the psychiatric nursing workforce in Nebraska and address the practice, education and policy considerations needed to fulfill the current needs and plan for workforce growth.
Michael Rice, Ph.D., APRN, FAAN
Dr. Michael Rice is an international expert on psychiatric mental health education, service delivery and policy. He is currently the Endowed Chair, Professor and Co-Director of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Colorado College of Nursing. During his career of 44 years, Dr. Rice has worked in every direct-care role in psychiatric mental health nursing from a student nursing tech to Assistant Medical Director of a Community Mental Health hospital.
