Olson Center for Women's Health and UNMC College of Nursing Hosts Webinar Series

Lynda Harris, PhD is an Associate Professor for the Department of Obstretrics and Gynecology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Harris will present “The Wonderful World of the Placenta: How it Works, What Can Go Wrong, and Using Nanomedicines to Fix It” on Tuesday Feb. 14 at noon. This webinar is part of the Olson Center for Women’s Health and UNMC College of Nursing webinar series.

Dr. Harris will discuss the placental structure and function in humans. She will articulate how a poorly functioning placenta can cause pregnancy complications such as pre-eclampsia, fetal growth restriction and stillbirth. She will also analyze the risks involved in using medicines during pregnancy while exploring approaches to help reduce these risks.

In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by University of Nebraska Medical Center and Olson Center for Women’s Health. University of Nebraska Medical Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the health care team. The University of Nebraska Medical Center designates this activity for 1.0 ANCC contact hour. Nurses should only claim credit for the actual time spent participating in the activity.
