Following the educational conference, learners should be able to: 

  • understand the role of dysregulated immunity in NORSE/FIRES and in evolution of drug-resistant epilepsy
  •  know the consequence of hyper-production of proinflammatory cytokines, an unopposed activation of NLRP3
  • inflammasome in autoinflammatory disorders
  • be aware of “detrimental synergistic interplay” between seizures and inflammation – a search for new targets (cytokine pathways) for therapy
