It may be hard to believe, but 100 years ago, University Hospital opened its doors to patients with 130 beds. That was Sept. 3, 1917.
Nebraska Medicine and UNMC leaders will commemorate the historic birthday of the hospital, now known as University Tower. All colleagues are welcome to attend the event on Thursday, Oct. 12 in the west atrium of the Durham Outpatient Center from 3 to 4 p.m.
Brief remarks from Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, CEO Dan DeBehnke, MD, MBA, and campus historian Robert Wigton, MD, will begin at 3:15 p.m.
Light refreshments will be served.
